Biomix is EPA-licensed and accept organic waste, garden waste, liquid wastes and untreated timber from authorised commercial customers.

By tipping at Biomix you are reducing your waste disposal fees. You are also helping the environment by reducing the amount of waste going into landfill.
Since Biomix Carag site was EPA approved and commissioned 550,000 tonnes of waste has been diverted from landfill and recycled through its plant.

The process from your bin to compost /mulch is a 12 week journey.

Pre-sorted loads of the following materials are accepted at Biomix Organics Recycling site

  • Garden Organics

    Timber Wastes must comply with the EPA definition of Raw Mulch. In particular, urban wood residues must be untreated, unpainted and uncontaminated timber collected as a separate source stream for processing

  • Wood packaging crates and pallets.

  • Wood shavings.

  • Wood shavings and sawdust.

  • Untreated solid wood offcuts.

  • Garden and timber must not contain.

    Timber Wastes must comply with the EPA definition of Raw Mulch. In particular, urban wood residues must be untreated, unpainted and uncontaminated timber collected as a separate source stream for processing

  • Asbestos

  • Engineered wood products such as particle board, plywood or laminate.

  • Preservative treated or coated wood residues.

  • Physical contaminants including but not limited to glass, metal, concrete, rigid plastics, flexible plastics or polystyrene.

Note: All loads are subject to inspection before tipping. Any loads with plastic, metal, concrete or brick contamination will be refused.

Liquid Waste

Biomix can handle any AS 4736 certified packaging via our ‘In Vessel’ digestion system and open windrows.
